The original kitchen was traditional in style, with smaller windows, limited storage, and a separate dining area that made the space feel closed off. While practical, it didn’t reflect the homeowners’ desire for a modern, open-plan layout with more natural light and better flow for family living.

To achieve the transformation, Essex Fitters carried out a full extension to expand the ground floor, opening up the layout and creating a bright, spacious kitchen-dining area.

The new design features sleek matte black cabinetry with handleless doors for a minimalist look, contrasted with white quartz worktops for a clean, luxury finish. A large central island with integrated wine cooler and breakfast bar seating has become the heart of the home – perfect for both everyday use and entertaining.

Pendant lighting over the island, porcelain tiled flooring, and modern built-in appliances complete the contemporary look, while the new bi-fold style doors flood the space with natural light and connect the home seamlessly to the garden.

The result is a complete transformation: from a dated, compartmentalised kitchen to a modern open-plan living space, achieved through both smart design and structural extension work.
